Blogging let’s me work from home with flexible hours and even put things on pause if I needed to take care of my family and myself.

I always say to everyone just to go with the platform that gives you control and control your content.

This is why I always recommend a self-hosted WordPress blog this kind of setup means no third party can tell you that you cannot monetize with ads or limits your blog in other ways.

When I started my blog. I went with Bluehost hosting because it’s affordable and beginner friendly. So if you are just starting it’s a great choice.

When you will get more traffic, You might consider moving to a more rubbished host like a host which I use now, but for a beginner keeping it simple and affordable is the way to go.

STEP-2 Choice a Niche

I noticed this step in the most important based on the comments and emails I get from my readers, but don’t overthink.

You can choose a topic that you love and you have some knowledge about that topic because trust me you are going to be talking about them a lot and if you think there are already too many blogs in that niche hear me out, that’s actually a good thing a popular Niche is proof that people are Interested and with the unique perspective you can still stand out. No, if you are into a smaller. less popular Niche you could be end up dominating it. So two approaches and both can work.

Blend Topics

Another option you could blend topics, imagine you are fitness trainer who also passionate about mental wellness and travel. Your blog could cover workout routine,mental health tips and travel guidance to stay fit and mindful while on the go this way.

You are attracting readers interested in the fitness mindfulness and travel with content like “Top destinations for a wellness retreat”

“Simple at home workout for busy schedule” or

“Mindful Practices for reducing stress while traveling”.

Anyway your goal is to find a balance between what you love what people are searching for and what you can consistently create.

STEP-3 Make Your Blog Look Good

You don’t need any coding experience for this just pick a pre-made template what is called a WordPress theme that’s looks good to you and fits the vibe you want for your brand.

Once you install a theme You can play with the colours, add your logo and can give Professional look without the coding.

STEP-4 Creating Content

Alright last move on to creating content. This is where you spent most of your time. So it’s key to have a plan. I suggest just start with one post a week is good for beginners. Google loves consistency, so if you can manage to post a week even better, but whatever you Choice the most important thing is taking with it.

A crucial step learn a little about search engine optimization. This is how people will found your blog on Google. It demands some effort to learn SEO.

Keyword Research

if you feel like as you is too complicated all you don’t know how you can even compete. I can tell you one thing try. Try to do keyword search, With free keyword research tool. Achref provides free keyword research tool and you can also try google keyword research tool.

Keyword is a like topic on which you will write a blog. Keyword research provides insights about the number of people searching about topic, compition on that keyword and many more.

Keyword Research on Pinterest

You can do keyword research on pinterest, in the search bar of the pinterest.
When you are deciding on content, think about pillar topics. These are the main categories you are be blogging about. Like recipes, parenting and organization Tips you have your pillars. A list of blog ideas that fall under each.

let’s talk about how often to post as I mentioned before atleast one post a week to get started. Think of it as saying to Google hi I am here. I am posting and I am serious about this. once you are comfortable to post a week is even better.

You can create pins for each post and because Pinterest is also a search engine. Your content will get seen by people searching for Exactly what you are writing about. STEP-6 Making Money with Your Blog

Alright Now the part you are. Been waiting for monetization There are a couple of solid method to make money through your blog when you are just getting started.

Affiliate Marketing

The first is affiliate marketing. Basically Your blog when you are promoting products or Services you love. If someone buys your links. You will earn commission. Amazon associate is a great option, but there are plenty of other programs out there you can join some of the best platforms which could offer you Higher commission than Amazon.

Just pick products that generally fit your content and that you are recommend to a friend. There are also display ads are those Banner ads as you see on websites and they can generate passive income based on the number of visitor coming to your side.

Already are getting next up you can think about digital products. I love this one because it’s low cost to start and it can be really rewarding in the long run.
